Sometimes a website problem requires a specialist touch to resolve it.

A customer contacted us last week as the map had disappeared from their website, along with the contact details from the lower part of the home page, and the link for customers to generate driving directions.

Although we host the website, we didn’t actually build it, but were quickly able to diagnose and fix the problem.

In this case, it was due to some legacy code within the website matrix, connecting to an old Google Maps API (a method of embedding a Google Map on a website). We identified the rogue code, edited the affected files, tested, deployed, and then recreated the missing sections of the home page within the website page-builder tool, so that the customer has full control of them moving forwards.

The end result is a happy customer, who can now manage her own map and contact section without any coding knowledge.
