Last week we shared an overview entitled ‘five ways to ensure your website works harder for your business’.
Now, we will delve a little deeper into each of the five points, to understand how and why they each matter.
1. Keep Your Website Up to Date
We had a scenario recently where a customer checked his website and realised he was advertising two different local phone numbers on the home page, one of which had been discontinued. This means he was potentially losing up to 50% of phone call leads, if people called the wrong number.
Another situation involved a customer who was advertising a core product at the wrong price. She had a choice to honour the advertised price to the new customer, meaning they were paying less than other current clients, or to have a difficult conversation and risk losing the sale by explaining the price was wrong.
A third client had moved premises but had not updated the address on their website. A customer arrived at the old location for a planned meeting, which was rather embarrassing. In addition to this, they could have missed out on important correspondence in the post, including their BYD Christmas Card!
