Popped in to see a customer yesterday to ask how her website is going. She said they are inundated with bookings for underbody wax oiling, already booked up for the summer, and currently sitting on top of Google for the search term ‘underbody wax oiling’.
We said, surely this great? To which she replied no, it’s awful, as I haven’t got time to book all of the jobs in. A nice problem to have!
So, in this case, we aren’t sorry at all.
When chasing organic SEO, there are two main factors to consider:
- AEO – does your website present the answer to a search question which an AI bot will index? In this case, the website is the top selected answer for searches relating to underbody wax oiling.
- Competition – if you select a term that is already heavily competed for, you need a big budget to move up the rankings. By researching keywords and search behaviour, you can identify a less-competitive term, and focus on achieving ranking for that term.
The upshot of both the above is that it increases organic traffic, which in turn, increases your domain credibility (an SEO factor). It also increases the chances of hits on other pages of the website if the visitor clicks any internal links, which in turn improves their SEO score by the virtue of the increased traffic to the page.
The above is a simplified scenario, and not a one-size-fits-all approach, but gives an overall picture of the approach used to help this particular client.
