Website management is part of our website hosting service. It is a more hands-on service, with an agreed level of time per month to help with content updates.

Move your website to BY Design

In order to keep your website fit for purpose and up-to-date, it needs constant care and attention. Sometimes, an extra pair of hands can be a key part of this process.

Website management services include adding/amending photographs of work, updating products, posting blog articles, and adding promotions, offers and seasonal changes.

A monthly management package is created to suit you, ensuring your website continually meets the needs of your clients and presents your business in the best possible way.

We ensure that the process of moving your website to BY Design is as stress-free as possible. All we need is a few initial details, and to be put in touch with your existing host, and we can take care of the rest.

Your website will be hosted on a fast, high-spec, secure VPC (virtual private cloud) server located in a UK data centre.

At BY Design, we continually invest in our servers each year to ensure they are equipped with the latest technology and software. In 2023, we invested over £30,000 in our new VPC.

Cloudflare - high volume traffic

We are able to offer Cloudflare protection as an added service to mitigate bot traffic and rogue requests to your website.

This is particularly useful for e-commerce websites, which might have hundreds of products and thousands of images, as rogue bots will attempt to index (scan) every page and image on a repeated basis, draining the resources of the website.

Cloudflare can be appied to any website, and is the market leader in cybersecurity and DDoS mitigation.

What does management include?

Content updates

The website management service includes adding/amending photographs of work, updating products, posting blog articles, and adding promotions, offers and seasonal changes.
SSL certificate

Each hosted website includes an SSL certificate to ensure all data is securely transmitted to and from the server
Daily backup

The server automatically backs up each website every night, with a rolling seven day schedule.
24 hour protection

A professional grade firewall is in place along with numerous security tools which run continuously.
24/7/365 on-site engineer

The server lives in a data centre in Manchester, and their engineers are on site in shifts providing permanent cover.
Security updates

Security patches to the content management system (CMS) are applied to every website on a weekly basis. The server features software which monitors which sites need upgrading and generates a daily report.
Plugin and extension updates

As above, but relating to the components within each site, rather than the overall framework
Uptime monitoring tool

The server software checks every website on a five minute rotation to make sure it is online and responding to connection requests. If it isn't, it notifies the support team.

Business Email

Whilst it is possible to provide mailboxes at the server level, we advise all of our business customers to use either Microsoft 365 or Google G Suite for email services.
