Digital 2021 Report from Hootsuite

The 2021 annual report from Hootsuite shows email (and email newsletters) to be the fourth most likely way a person will interact with your brand.

This report is a comprehensive look at the state of the internet, mobile devices, social media, and ecommerce from Hootsuite and We Are Social.

Brand Interaction

When looking at the behaviour of internet users aged 16-64, the data shows that reading an email or email newsletter from a brand is the fourth most common activity online.

Website, video and social following make up the first three results, but the percentage margin between social network and email is only 1.3%, which suggests equal amounts of time should be dedicated to each medium.

Using the Data

It was this data which led to the decision to create the BY Design email newsletter, as a way of sharing content, ideas, news and generally to keep in touch with our customers.

We invest a lot of time managing our social media accounts, but this data tells us we need to dedicate equal measures to our email audience.
